About Me
I am a doctoral student in the English Department at Old Dominion University. My emphases are 1) Writing, Rhetoric, and Discourse, 2) Composition Pedagogy, and 3) New Media and Technology. I research the rhetorics of digital identity composing on social networking sites, students’ composing practices on social media, community building in digital spaces, and the pedagogical uses and implications of digital tools and platforms in the composition classroom. I also teach writing courses at Old Dominion University and assist the graduate program director for the English PhD program. My writing has appeared in MediaCommons, and I have forthcoming chapters in Emerging Pedagogies in the Networked Knowledge Society: Practices Integrating Social Media and Globalization and in Identity and Leadership in Virtual Communities: Establishing Credibility and Influence.
